NCDXF Announces Grant To Ham Aid Fund

October 3, 2017

The Northern California DX Foundation is pleased to announce that it has made a $2,500 grant to ARRL’s Ham Aid Fund.  Ham Aid was created in 2005 in response to the need for equipment and resources to support the amateur radio response to hurricanes in the United States and Caribbean.

ARRL is currently supplying Ham Aid kits for the Hurricane Irma emergency response efforts in Puerto Rico, where they are used to establish amateur radio communications support.  Using FEMA resources for shipping, the kits are shipped via contracted courier to San Juan, Puerto Rico for deployment. More Ham Aid equipment will be needed for future requests.  NCDXF encourages all amateurs to consider a donation to Ham Aid (www.arrl.org/ham-aid).

The primary purpose of NCDXF is to help fund well-organized DXpeditions to rare, difficult and expensive entities.  Those funds come from the contributions of our supporters in the DX community.  Your contribution will help continue to make DX happen.  Visit our website:  www.ncdxf.org

In addition:

• NCDXF provides scholarships to Contest University for those 25 years of age and under
• Partners with IARU to operate the NCDXF Beacon System worldwide
• Oversees the Cycle 25 Project:  an endowment-fund created from estate planning

We thank you for your continued support.

Best regards,

John Miller, K6MM
NCDXF President
